Go Atheism
I have just spent some time clicking through other peoples blogs. (at the top of the page you will see a button that says "Next Blog"). What I noticed was out of the 15 or so blogs I saw, 1 for a university class, 1 knitting blog, 1 quilting blog, 2 gay blogs and the remainder were christian blogs. I am not opposed to religion as long as I dont have to have anything to do with it, go for gold I say but dont try to convert me. Billy Connelly once wisely and humourously said "As an Athiest do I knock on peoples doors and ask them to give up believing in anything?".
It interests me to see a public rise in christianity in a society where scientific advances and discoveries are being made at such a tremendous rate. Doesnt it seem odd that people still believe in something for which there is no proof? It does to me. I have seem advertisements for flatmates (roomies, sharehouse tenants) that state "Christian Flatmate Wanted". Can you imagine what would happen if I placed and ad asking specifically for a Non Christian, I have a sneaking suspicion that this would create some trouble in this day and age of overbearing political correctness. As long as we act with respect, tolerance, as long as we are polite, thoughtful and stick to our own values then why do we need a church or "God" to tell us what we already know we should be doing?
