Adam & I---------------------------------The Party Crowd

Well. it was Dads 50th birthday party last night. We had a long day yesterday getting things ready for about 40 guests. All went well, loads of leftover food. We must have made finger food for about 100 people!! Great time had by all. Still at Mum and Dads, its leftovers for dinner here tonight so Adam and I, Martin, Sharelle and Anna (Martins Mum) will be here for dinner to polish of the rest of the food. Grand Idea I thought!

Tottenham Hotspurs and the Battle for 4th

Thenext game will be the decider for us and its against our arch rivals. The Spurs lost to Man United over the weekend. The game was on at 3am here and neither of us could stay up to watch it but did check out the highlights and the last half of the match on replay the next day. Was disappointed to see us concede a goal when our wee Korean Terrier Lee made a dreadful error of judgement, there was no hope of the lovely Paul Robinson saving our tails when Rooney kicked it in from only 10 yards. By this stage we were 2-0 down, thanks to Jenas we did get a point in, and the team tried valiantly in the last 10 minutes to equalize but luck wasnt on our side.
Nothing much is happening here. There is a NZ doctor running a research programme on insomnia and other sleep disorders so I am trying to get hold of him as I really want to participate. No luck thus far but will keep trying as I am interested to see if it could help. If I get onto the trial I might have to start another blog diary to track the process and any changes.
Take care all.

"Red" is a Naughty Word

As a relative newcomer to this whole Football thing (thats Soccer for some of you) I am amazed at how quickly I have developed an interest in the sport and how much I love watching "my team" play! When it all started, everything I knew about football could have fit in the head of a pin and still have left room for my extensive knowledge of flavoured vodka.
So, here I was armed with absolutely zero knowledge of the game and in a relationship with an Englishman. Football and the English are like well, Iraqis and car bombs; 90% of the population are huge fans. Poor Adam with no other football mad boys to talk to resorted to trying to discuss football with me. These discussions consisted mainly of me pretending to know what I was talking about while trying to smile and scowl at the right times as to show that I was at least as half as good to talk with about football as his mates in the UK. I don't think he was fooled. Probably didn't help that I went on about how nice Paul Robinson must be to his mum.

Football is quite a hard concept to grasp as a New Zealander, as well as a girl. I've grown up with rugby and all the rules of that game, so to see a field of blokes kicking a ball around in every direction possible and seeing people getting yellow cards for things such as kicking the ball away was so weird. In New Zealand its not a rugby game unless there's a bit of biffo and we dont have yellow or red cards here. If you get socked in the head during a tackle then its your own tough luck, wipe off the blood and get back in.
It can be a tense game to watch when you actually know whats on the line for your team. The fact that one game can make or break you and can decide your fate, it gets quite exciting. So with Tottenham sitting 4th on the table, 5 points ahead of Arsenal we are looking pretty good at the moment. Adam keeps reminding me that the race isnt over but as far as I'm concerned a bit of positive thinking never hurt anyone.

E-N-G-L-A-N-D

I'll be frank. We are wanting to go to England, we neeeeed to go to England. I'm even considering putting Adam in a nice frock and putting him on a street corner, we'd make thousands! (Don't worry baby, its only Plan B). Most of you won't need an explanation of this situation but for those that don't know... Adam is English (its not his fault so don't hold that against him.), he came here about 3 years ago for a 3 month holiday and hasnt gone home since. We met, fell in love and he has decided to apply for residency. This August it will be our 2 year anniversary and I haven't yet met his parents and most of his siblings, he hasn't seen his Mum and Dad for a long time and it's all getting too much for everyone. Introductions need to be made, family needs to be seen and a thoroughly nice time must be had by all - SOON!
Plan A is to try and make a few $$ from this site (as well as saving money of course!), the earnings from here will only be small but every damn bit helps!
You may notice that I have added a scrolling advert bar. This is a link to an online shopping site (don't groan yet), Everytime someone clicks on that link and purchases a rather wonderful wee thing I get a few cents thrown my way. It really is a very cool way to get unique stuff for you and anyone else you fancy enough to buy something for. Check it out and keep it in mind, theres some very funny things on there which can be hard to get if you dont live in the US of A aaand they ship anywhere in the world.
The other wee thing I have had for a while is the Google advert and search tool. You dont even need money for these ones but Google will give me a tiny drop in the bucket each time you click on an ad! Just click and your job is done. Now, Google think that asking people outright to click on ads willy nilly could be considered as a fradulant activity so let me be very clear, I cant say things like "please visit this page lots and please click an ad everytime you visit" or "please use my site to search for stuff then click on the ads on the results page". but feel free to click on any ad that interests you! *wink wink*

Weighting Weighting Weighting...

Well, here I am trying to lose a few kilos before christmas and summer hits us at full speed. Granted - Im not trying that hard but giving it a bit of a go. I have to remember that Im not allowed to eat as much as Adam. He should be studied by scientists, his metabolism is faster than a Kenyan sprinter.
Nothing is happening here as usual, still havent unpacked all the boxes stacked up in the spare room, we just close the door on it which is fine by me for a while. Weather is turning disgusting, I wouldnt mind the rain so much if it wasnt so hot at the same time. Its weird to wish that it was getting colder but I just hate the muggyness (i know its not a word!).
